What is the recommend amount of sleep?

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Well the recommended amount of sleep varies from person to person, as factors such as age and sleep patterns come into consideration. Generally adults should look to get between 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night, whereas teenagers, children and babies vary even further with recommendations of at least 8 hours a day for teenagers and up to 15 hours a day for babies.

Keeping regular sleeping patterns can help you sleep every night for longer, as well as relaxing before going to bed and avoiding stimulants such as caffeine and alcohol. However I always the find the best way to increase that amount of sleep your receive can be found in your bedroom.

Keeping your bedroom dark helps to keep out the natural light when the sun rises, and a comfortable mattress makes getting out of bed a chore so if you do happen to wake up early then you may just find you fall asleep again quickly if you are comfortable.

SleepZone – A New Concept in Mattresses

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

Traditionally a mattress is made with a wire frame around the edge with rows of springs running across the width of the frame, filled with various materials for padding and wrapped in a cover.

However the springs are connected together by a wire, it simply means that if two people are laid on the mattress and when one of them moves or rolls over the other person can feel the movement in the mattress as the connected springs are affected.

One solution could be to purchase a pocket sprung mattress, however these can be quite expensive depending on the mattress, but a revolutionary idea has been developed known by the name of SleepZone.

Manufactured by Sweet Dreams SleepZone mattresses have a spring system that runs the length of the bed rather than the width, this works to evenly distribute the weight of both people sleeping and to keep them cool and comfortably separate. It also means that when someone moves in the bed the other person cannot feel the movement in the mattress as the springs run in the same direction is the person sleeping on them.

So if you want a little bit more luxury and a comfortable night’s sleep and can’t quite afford a pocket sprung mattress then we seriously suggest having a look at a SleepZone mattress.

The ranges also include stunning single beds, the Wendy features heart detailing on a pink headboard whilst the Harry features car detailing on a blue headboard, and both are available with pull out trundle beds which are ideal for guests or under bed storage drawers.

What to look for in a child’s bed?

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

We understand it can be difficult choosing a new bed but choosing a childs bed is even more difficult. When choosing a bed for an adult the choice is normally based around the material of the bed and the style of bedroom it is going into but with a childs bed the selection normally takes into account other factors.

Primarily a childs bedroom is a place to sleep but unlike an adults bedroom a childs bedroom is much more than just a place to sleep. A childs bedroom has to offer a place to sleep, a place to relax and play, a place where friends can come and play together and for younger children stimulate their imagination.

Therefore choosing a childs bed to meet all of these considerations can be difficult, and then there is the practicality side to consider as well, as ideally a childs bed will also need to incorporate some type storage into their design.

However with the current range of childrens beds available on market, there are enormous ranges of single beds, midsleeper beds, highsleeper beds and even bunk beds so you can be guaranteed to find a bed suitable to match your requirements.
